the Educator

As a teacher, David’s ultimate goal is to foster an insatiable love of music and learning for his students. David’s unwavering passion and curiosity for music began at an early age among a family full of teachers. On the whole David’s teaching style reflects a desire for the student to have a strong theoretical understanding and to be able to play/sing and sight-read with precision at his/her respective level. To be more specific, David adapts his teaching style to fit the needs of every individual student and uses positive reinforcement and vivid imagery in every lesson.

With David’s guidance, his students have been very successful. Some of his students have advanced in the TMEA All-State Choir auditions, have passed ABRSM piano exams with distinction, have learned to “sing in tune” as adults and have been accepted to the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. At the end of the day, David takes pride in shaping young minds to excel, teaching adults new skills, and helping adolescents navigate their voice change(s) and the world around them.
